About Llaethliw Vineyard
Richard and Siw Evans purchased Llaethliw in 2008, both deeply rooted in the Teifi and Aeron valleys where they were raised. Together, they have two children, Megan and Jac. The idaea of establishing a vineyard came to Richard as he explored opportunities for farming diversification and the impacts of climate change. Jac pursued a Viticulture course at Plumpton College from 2010 to 2012 and returned home to manage the vineyard.
Since its inception, Llaethliw has flourished. The first 8,500 vines were planted in 2009, with an additional 10,000 added over the years. In 2020, Jac and his wife Charley built their home on the vineyard, solidifying their commitment to its growth and success.
The vineyard also boasts a unique pest control team—Jet, a spirited Cocker Spaniel who joined in 2010, and Bernie, a Bernedoodle, who became her assistant in 2020. Together, they add charm to this thriving vineyard.
Llaethliw is now home to over 15,000 vines, two dedicated families, and two very happy dogs. It produces a range of award-winning still and sparkling wines, as well as its own cider, Hansh. With its strong foundation, innovative approach, and family-driven ethos, Llaethliw continues to grow and bring the essence of its unique terroir to life in every bottle.
